Freedom Writers April 26, May 3-7th.

We will be watching parts of Freedom Writers that demonstrates the following: Conflict Resolution, Tolerance, Ethnic/Racial barriers (similar to Holocaust) Finding Success, Overcoming Adversity, Earning Respect and Trust.

If you feel uncomfortable watching this movie or having your student watch it, please let me know and I will give you or your student an alternative assignment.

2. Begin presentations

We will not be debating or filming today.
We are putting our opinions and research into "pamphlet" or "flyer" form. With your group, create a pamphlet/flyer with your info. regarding both of your questions you researched.
*Your research is worth a test grade.

If you don't have time to print it, save to the computer desktop and drag to your school id. OR, save to a flash drive.

Tuesday: Present pamphlet? (Test grade.)
Wednesday: Conflict Resolution Scenarios
Thursday: Act out Scenario: Conflict Resolution (2 daily grades.)
Friday: Computer lab- Job skills and money!

April 12-16. Conflict Resolution!

Monday: Can you untangle yourselves? Plexers. Chapter 11, p. 344. Group Conflict Scenarios

Tuesday: Kansas State Youtube Video. Learning from kids video. Group scenarios. Inner/Outer Circle Development. Work on play.

Wednesday: Complete working on scenario. Inner/Outer Circle.

Thursday: Scenarios

Friday: Student Written plays (in theater.)

Thursday, April 1st

Complete Resume, Cover letter, & Thank you letter.

Looking ahead:

Monday, April 5th: Interview do's and dont's..... Handshake, attire, questions, etc.

Tuesday/Wednesday: Record interviews with partners.
Thursday/Friday: Watch interviews and grade each group.
